Their Past Your Future 2:  Respecting the Past: Remembering South Tyneside Wartime Memories

  • Creative Writing with Tess Hudson.  Find out more at our launch event on 15th January, 2.00 – 4.00 pm, when the Local Studies Road Show will be at Hebburn Library to explore maps and information to see where the bombs fell on South Tyneside in WW2, why, and consider who was affected.  Tess, from Pen and Tonic, www.penandtonic.org, will be running creative writing workshops in South Tyneside, exploring conflict and conflict resolution.

The WEA (Workers Educational Association) Family History Course

  • Starts on 12th January, 9.45 – 11.45, with Theresa McLoughlin, drawing on resources in the Local Studies Library at South Shields, and internet access via the People’s Network.  Fees for the course start at £5, depending upon eligibility.  Contact 212 6100 or 0752 850 2826.
