Page 8 of 9 Calling all budding photographers! South Tyneside Libraries and Tourism service want you to take pictures of the borough as it is today so that we can use them to promote the area and to create a historical record of South Tyneside in 2008. You can enter pictures of anything – as long as it has been taken in South Tyneside. Whether you want to capture our beautiful coastline, shops or parks, buildings or people, sculptures or scenery, it’s entirely up to you – anything that you think captures the spirit of South Tyneside. THE OVERALL WINNER FOR EACH CATEGORY WILL WIN A £100 CURRY’S GIFT VOUCHER! For those who are successful in ‘Capturing the Spirit’ of South Tyneside a selection of the best images will be published in Janis Blower’s Cookson Country page of the Shields Gazette, as well as going on display during Heritage Open Days. So get your cameras out, let your imagination take over and start clicking away and you could be adding to a fantastic resource for many generations to come. RULES OF ENTRY Fill in the application form available at the library and send it along with your printed photograph to reach the library - no later than 31st July, 2008.
